01Agreement to These Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the ShareLater mobile application or any related website or service (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms form a binding legal agreement between you and ShareLater ("we", "us", or "our"). "You" refers to the individual accessing the Service, or the organization on whose behalf the Service is accessed.
02Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use ShareLater. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
We do not knowingly provide the Service to children under 13. See Section 13 for our COPPA compliance statement.
03Accounts and Authentication
You must create an account to use ShareLater. We currently support email/password sign-in and Google Sign-In. We may offer additional authentication methods — such as Apple Sign-In, phone number login, or third-party social providers — in the future.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. You agree to notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account. We are not liable for any loss resulting from someone else using your account with or without your knowledge.
For email/password accounts, we may require email verification before granting full access to certain features. Accounts that remain unverified for an extended period may be subject to limitations or removal.
You may not create accounts using automated means, create accounts under false pretenses, or create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions placed on any account.
You may request to delete your account and all of its data at any time within the app or publicly available site online: https://sharelater.app.
04What ShareLater Does
ShareLater lets you save, organize, and revisit links from across the web. Core functionality includes:
Saving URLs shared from other apps via your device's share sheet, or entered manually.
Organizing links into "boards" — user-created labels that can be applied to one or more links.
Fetching and displaying metadata from saved URLs (title, description, favicon, preview image). We retrieve this at the time of saving; we do not store the page's full content.
Trash system — deleted links are held for up to 45 days before being automatically and permanently deleted. You can empty Trash at any time.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of material changes.
05Your Content and Links
You are responsible for all URLs, board names, and other content you submit to the Service ("Your Content"). By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display it solely to provide the Service. We do not claim ownership of Your Content, but we reserve the right to remove any content or suspend any account that violates these Terms.
You represent that saving and organizing any given URL through the Service does not violate any applicable law or third-party rights.
When you delete your account, all of Your Content is permanently deleted from our systems. Automated deletion may take a short period to propagate fully, but we do not retain your personal data after account deletion beyond what is required by applicable law or legitimate business purposes.
06Public Boards
This feature is planned for a future release. These terms apply once it becomes available.
ShareLater may allow you to publish a board to a publicly accessible URL (e.g., sharelater.app/username/boardname). All boards are private by default.
When you publish a board publicly, you understand and agree that:
The board's content — URLs and associated metadata — becomes accessible to anyone on the internet, including search engines.
You may optionally protect a public board with a PIN. PIN protection limits casual access but is not a strong security guarantee; do not use it for truly sensitive content.
You are solely responsible for what you publish. Do not publish boards containing illegal content, content that infringes third-party rights, or content that violates these Terms.
We reserve the right to remove any published board that violates these Terms or applicable law, without prior notice.
Making a board private does not guarantee immediate removal from third-party caches or search engine indexes.
07Third-Party Links and Content
ShareLater is a tool for organizing links to external content. We have no control over, and take no responsibility for, the content, accuracy, legality, or availability of any external website or resource you save or that is displayed through the Service.
When you save a URL, we may automatically fetch publicly available metadata from that page. This does not constitute our endorsement of the linked content. The metadata we retrieve reflects what the external site makes available and may be inaccurate, outdated, or unavailable.
We are not liable for any harm arising from your access to or use of third-party content accessed through ShareLater — including malware, phishing, illegal content, or misinformation.
If you believe a publicly published ShareLater board contains illegal content or content that infringes your rights, please contact us at the address in Section 16.
08Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use the Service to:
Violate any applicable law or regulation.
Store, organize, or publish links to content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes any third-party intellectual property or privacy rights.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other users' accounts, or our infrastructure.
Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by transmitting malware or engaging in denial-of-service attacks.
Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service in ways not authorized by us.
Impersonate another person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
Use the Service for any commercial purpose not expressly permitted by us.
Harass, stalk, or harm other users in connection with any peer-sharing features.
We reserve the right to determine what constitutes a violation of this section in our reasonable judgment.
09Suspension and Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the account settings in the app. Deletion immediately and permanently removes all of your data.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account — and your access to the Service — at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or illegal conduct, or pose a risk to other users or to the Service.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 7, 11, 12, and 15) will do so.
10Data and Privacy
Our collection and use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you agree to the Privacy Policy.
We may use anonymized and aggregated usage data to understand how the Service is used, inform product decisions, and improve the experience for all users. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
11Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant that any data you store will be preserved without loss. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of content you consider important.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so the above may not apply to you in full.
12Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShareLater and its officers, employees, agents, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, revenue, goodwill, or business interruption — arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claims will not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you in full.
13Children's Privacy (COPPA)
ShareLater is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have inadvertently done so, we will delete it promptly.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address in Section 16.
14Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you — through an in-app notice or by emailing the address on your account.
Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.
15Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Los Angeles, CA, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Los Angeles, CA, USA. You consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Before initiating any formal dispute, you agree to first contact us and attempt to resolve the matter informally. We will attempt to respond within 30 days.
Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking injunctive or equitable relief to prevent infringement of intellectual property rights.
