Last updated: 5.27.2026   ·   Effective upon use of the Service

01Overview

ShareLater ("we", "us", or "our") is a link-saving and organization app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use ShareLater, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

We've written this to be as plain and direct as possible. We do not sell your personal data.

This policy applies to the ShareLater mobile application, our website at sharelater.app, and any related services (collectively, the "Service").

03How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

We do not use your data for targeted advertising and do not build advertising profiles based on your use of ShareLater.

04How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

Service providers

Third-party companies that help us operate the Service process data on our behalf and are contractually bound to use it only for our specified purposes. Key providers:

Legal requirements

We may disclose your information if required to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights, prevent fraud, or protect user safety.

Business transfers

If ShareLater is acquired or merges with another company, your information may transfer as part of that deal. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Peer sharing

A "Shared with Me" peer-sharing feature is planned. This policy will be updated when it launches. Any sharing with other users will always be opt-in and require your explicit action.

05Public Boards

This feature is planned for a future release. These terms apply once it becomes available.

If you publish a board publicly, the URLs it contains and their metadata will be accessible to anyone on the internet, including search engines. Your username will be part of the public board URL.

All boards are private by default. Making a board private removes it from the public URL, but we cannot guarantee immediate removal from third-party caches or search engine indexes.

06Data Retention and Deletion

Links in Trash are automatically and permanently deleted after 45 days. You can empty Trash at any time.

Account deletion is available in account settings. Deleting your account permanently removes all associated data — links, boards, profile. We retain no personal data once complete, except where required by law.

Anonymized usage data may be retained in aggregated form after account deletion, as it cannot identify you.

07Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. Your data is stored in Google Firebase, which operates with industry-standard security controls. Access is governed by Firebase Security Rules, ensuring only authenticated users can read or write their own data.

No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. If you become aware of any security concern with your account, please contact us immediately.

08Third-Party Services

ShareLater integrates with third-party services governed by their own privacy policies:

When you save a link, we make an outbound request to that page to retrieve metadata. We do not transmit your personal information to those external sites in this process.

09Children's Privacy (COPPA)

ShareLater is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10Your Rights and Choices

Regardless of your location, we provide these options to all users:

EEA, UK, and Switzerland

If applicable laws (including GDPR) grant you additional rights — to object to processing, request restriction, or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — you may exercise those by contacting us. We process your data on the bases of contractual necessity, legitimate interests, and legal compliance.

California residents

California residents may have additional rights under CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as defined under California law. Contact us at the address in Section 12 to exercise any applicable rights.

11Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. For material changes — particularly those that expand how we collect or use your data — we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance via in-app notice or email.

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.
